Follow-up on using Port 443/TCP for OpenVPN. I typically want to use my VPN connection when connecting from public WiFi or Hotel hotspots. In those circumstances, using Port 443 makes a lot of sense because in TCP mode the OpenVPN client initially issues a TCP connect command. I have two openvpn sevrer instance on Pfsense. One instance is using TCP port 1144 (NAT is implemented in our pubic firewall, for public clients port is 443-TCP) Other instance is using UDP port 1144 (NAT is implemented in our pubic firewall, for public clients port is 443-UDP) You can run multiple instances of openvpn with completely different setting or all the same settings other than the port they run on.. See picture attached. So I have 2 instances of openvpn running - one listening on tcp 443, the other on the standard udp 1194 port.
